Fogcatchers like these on the outskirts of Lima, Peru are supplementing the local communities’ water supply. In a climate that gets less than 40 millimeters of rain a year, the 4 by 8 meter fogcatchers can collect hundreds of liters of water a night in underground storage containers.  German NGO Alimón e.v. has been working with these impoverished neighborhoods, most of which don’t have running water nor the money to pay for water that’s trucked up to the slums.
